Students Present a Musical Sabbath School Program

Services in the Laurelbrook Seventh-day Adventist Church on June 22, 2019 began with a song service led by Daphne and Heissel (seniors), accompanied on the piano by Leilani (senior).   The opening song was “Marching to Zion”. Daphne welcomed everyone.

Heissel had prayer and read the scripture reading – Psalm 92:1-5 “1 ¶ « A Psalm [or] Song for the sabbath day. » [It is a] good [thing] to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: 2 To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, 3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound. 4 For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. 5 O LORD, how great are thy works! [and] thy thoughts are very deep.”

Kelly-Ann (sophomore) and Saysay (freshman) read a story about a family who visited people who had not attended church in a while. Kelly-Ann then called for the Laurelbrook Missions Offering, which was collected by Ernesto (senior) and Gustavo (senior).

Following the mission story and offering came a special music program. Daniel (sophomore) played a violin solo.  Freddy (sophomore) played a solo on his bass viol, accompanied by Daniel on the piano. Rebecca Nowdesha played “Ts So Sweet to Trust in Jesus” and “O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go” as a violin solo, accompanied by Leilani on the piano. Leilani and Daphne sang a vocal duet, accompanied by Eddelyn (sophomore) on the piano. Denisse (senior) played a violin solo, accompanied by her brother Freddy on the piano. Yzzynne (sophomore) and Saysay then sang a vocal duet.

Daphne (senior) then had the closing prayer and announced the classes.   Students met behind the glass for their Sabbath School class. Stephanie Roy-Lavallee taught the student Sabbath School class.   Rodney Herra taught the Sabbath School class in the church sanctuary.
