Sergio Bellino Discusses What God Can Do for Us

On Sabbath, March 7, 2020, Laurelbrook’s Sabbath services began with a song service led by Yzzynne (sophomore), accompanied on the piano by Leilani (senior). The opening song was “Because He Lives”.  Eldric (junior) had prayer.

Heissel (senior) welcomed everyone and had prayer and read the scripture reading – Isaiah 46:9 “Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is] none like me,”

Michael (senior) read a mission story from Romania about an elementary school student who became a Seventh-day Adventist who failed an entrance exam and drifted away from God. Then he met an uncle. He and his wife were baptized.  He had a dream of taking an exam at least twice and more. Later in most dreams he dreamed of witnessing to people.  His wife pushed him into attending an Adventist seminary, thus fulfilling the second part of the dream.  He had finally accepted the second part of the dream.

Heisler (sophomore) and Wilmer (freshman) collected the Laurelbrook Missions Offering.  This offering goes to support Laurelbrook mission trips. Maria (senior) played a violin solo, accompanied by Leilani (senior) on the piano for special music.

Sergio Bellino had the theme talk. Following are some notes on his talk:

  1. Isaiah 46:9 “Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is] none like me,”
  2. God is very special, doing things no one else can.
  3. Isaiah 46:10 “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:”
  4. God foretells the future and makes sure it happens.
  5. Isaiah 46:8-9 “8 Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring [it] again to mind, O ye transgressors. 9 Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is] none like me,”
  6. In the Bible, God tells us what is in the future.
  7. When we are in difficult situations, we need to remember that the right will conquer.
  8. God wants us to remember that future events are intended to bring attention to His church and the fact that this church has information to explain what is occurring.
  9. The world knows that something is about to take place.
  10. Why did God bring you into His church and revealed this information to You?
  11. Daniel 2:30 “But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for [any] wisdom that I have more than any living, but for [their] sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.”
  12. God gives information so we can reflect on the thoughts we think.  How does God’s information change you personally? We are pushed to think deeply about our lives since every person present was born in the End Times.
  13. 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
  14. The time each of us has is very precious. God wants to be in control of that time.

Sergio Bellino then had the closing prayer. The congregation divided into three Sabbath School classes - a class in the main church sanctuary taught by Clayton Brandt, a student class in the boys’ dorm lobby taught by Sergio Bellani, and a student class taught by Tatiana Ochoa “behind the glass” at the back of the church sanctuary.

Personnel Other Than Students:

Clayton Brandt – works with Laurelbrook’s heavy equipment / local church elder

Sergio Ballani – Laurelbrook’s public relations director

Tatiana Ochoa – one of the academy English teachers
