Bill Dull Talks About His Work in India

The church service in the Laurelbrook Seventh-day Adventist Church on June 29, 2019 began with Clayton Brandt welcoming everyone and making announcements. There will be lunch in the cafeteria and hike afterwards. Don’t forget the prayer requests. Denis MacDonald’s wife died; the funeral will be at 7:00.

Beth Brandt played an introit on the piano.  Pastor Bill Dull had the invocation.  Led by Wesley Bradford, the congregation sang “Far and Near the Fields Are Teaming”. Clayton Brandt had the main prayer.

Clayton Brandt called for the offering, which will go to the Georgia-Cumberland Conference’s Cohutta Springs camp.   Sebastien Roy-Lavallee and Daryen (senior) collected the church offerings. Clayton Brandt then prayed for the offering.

Heissel (senior) told the children a story. Daniel (freshman) and Freddy (freshman) played their stringed instruments for special music, accompanied by Benny (junior) on the piano. Ernesto (senior) then read Isaiah 6:8 “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here [am] I; send me.”

Pastor Bill Dull then spoke on the topic “Missions.” The congregation sang “I’ll Go Where You Want Me to Go”.  Pastor Dull had the closing prayer.

Following are some notes from the sermon:

  1. Why are we still here on this earth?  1844 was supposed to be the end of time. Jesus is waiting for “the manifestation ion of himself in His church”.
  2. Jesus is coming soon due to all the atrocious things happening on this earth – abortion, gay movement, for example.
  3. Huge masses of people, especially in India, have never heard of Jesus.
  4. Psalm 126:5-6 “5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves [with him].”
  5. John 15:16 “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”
  6. Jesus says to get an education in reaching the unreached places on earth.
  7. Bill Dull says that he received this type of education at Wildwood Institute, Wildwood, Georgia (south of Chattanooga).
  8. India has three babies born every second (27 million babies every year). Who’s reaching three people every second?
  9. 34,000 women die in childbirth every year. His wife is a midwife and has trained many Indian midwives to help with this situation.
  10. Living Springs Missions has three main institutions. Springs of Love is their current base in the mountains of northeast India. Springs of Life is a lifestyle educational training center. Springs of Joy is similar to Springs of Life. All three institutions are in the areas of India surrounding the country of Bangladesh
  11. Many of the children in these institutions get up early in the morning so they can read their Bibles as the sun comes up.
  12. People from Poland built a set of playground equipment for one of the schools. They also built building foundations during three to four weeks each year. The older students built the trusses and much of the rest of the buildings.
  13. Marantha built a clinic in a remote jungle area where people had no medical care and died.  The midwives man the clinic. Eight high school students and an older man built the clinic.
  14. The mission got a donation to provide scooters for their midwives.
  15. Some of their lifestyle students are presently helping Elder Ted Wilson in Calcutta evangelism.
  16. 400 have been trained as lifestyle educators.
  17. Their institutions are also supported by a food factory.  All three institutions have a tailor training course so these lifestyle educators can support themselves.
  18. Every Sunday lifestyle students bicycle out to villages.
  19. 1.3 billion people live in India.  Who’s going to reach them? But the continual presence of the Holy Spirit is necessary to reach them.
