Dorka Ubiera and Daryll Ellis Wed

The wedding ceremonies for Dorka Ubiera and Daryll Ellis began at 11:00 a.m. on November 23, 2013 in the Laurelbrook Seventh-day Adventist Church. The guests were conducted to their seats by Bubba Herra, a Laurelbrook graduate and Daryll's brother-in-law, and Jensen Ruud, a friend of the couple and currently an academy math teacher. While the guests were waiting for the ceremony to begin, Melina Pauls, wife of academy principal John Pauls and a Laurelbrook graduate, played hymns on the piano.

The bridal party walked in while Melinda Pauls played "O for a Closer Walk" and "Love at Home".  The bride entered while Mary Brown played "Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus".  Pastor David Wendt, pastor of the Laurelbrook church, had an opening prayer.  Kim Busl, a former missionary and businessman, welcomed everyone and talked about love and devotion to Jesus.  Pastor Wendt then administered the wedding vows, led in a prayer for the couple while they knelt down, led out in singing the hymn "Praise to the Lord", and presented the new couple - Daryll and Dorka Ellis - to the congregation.

The bridal party went out to the foyer, and the guests were ushered out, greeting the new couple on the way out.  Most of the group then made their way to the academy auditorium where the wedding reception was held.  Master of ceremonies for the reception was London Lee, Laurelbrook's campus chaplain.

The guests enjoyed a very delicious vegetarian meal of haystacks topped off by a slice of cake or a cupcake, a meal prepared under the direction of Maudie Westfall, head campus decorator and former head of campus social activities. Dorka and Daryll then cut the cake and fed pieces to each other. A country singer and repairman friend of Daryll Ellis' played some mountain melodies and sang a couple of songs.  Some of the guests present then went to a microphone and told the couple how much they appreciated them.  The reception closed with prayer.
