Wendy Carr Talks About Her Family's History at Laurelbrook

Sabbath services on August 20, 2016 began with a song service led by Anna Carr.  The opening song was “In the Garden”, accompanied by Jacqueline Miller on the piano. Wendy Carr had prayer.

Wendy Carr then read Mark 4:26-28 “26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; 27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. 28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.” She then welcomed everyone.
Wendy Carr then called for the Laurelbrook Missions Offering, which was collected by the two Arce boys and which goes to support Laurelbrook mission trips.  Keonwoo (senior) sang “Amazing Grace” (selected verses) for special music with the congregation joining in on the last stanza.

Wendy Carr then told the story of her stay at Laurelbrook. When the family arrived at Laurelbrook, they had five children, two of their own and three from her sister’s family.  All five were enabled to get a Christian education at Laurelbrook. She then shared some of the presents, mainly shirts, given to Rick Carr that people brought back from Europe, the Bahamas, Haiti, Russia, Brazil, Honduras, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.  Seeds have been planted all over the world from Laurelbrook by God’s direction.  Some of these seeds may seem dormant for a while but eventually they will bear fruit.

She then had closing prayer. Rich Sutton taught the students in the room at the back of the church sanctuary “behind the glass”. James Brenneman taught the adult lesson in the church sanctuary.
