Arce Family Has Sabbath School Program
.

Sabbath services on July 2, 2016, began with a song service led by Pedro Arce, accompanied on the piano by Mark Kent. The opening song was “Abide With Me”.

Isai (senior) read Isaiah 41:10 “Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”  He also read Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.”  Ginny Arce welcomed everyone.

Pedro Arce read a mission story about a lady who went to Africa and encountered a lot of homeless children. She consulted with her husband and the church she was visiting.  The decision was to feed the children breakfast. The group started with ten children with no leftover food.  After feeding the children, they prayed for the Lord’s help.  The next time fifty children were helped.  Other people became interested in helping. A year later the entire church was involved. Then the pastor started to share some thoughts before breakfast was served.

Eventually the church expanded to two churches.  Each of us should think how we can be a blessing to others. Please pray for funds to construct a new church building for the second congregation.

Ginny Arce then called for the Laurelbrook Missions Offering, which was collected by Karla and Yeimi (ESL students). Jerry Ulett played his guitar while the offering was being collected. The Arce family then had special music; Pedro Arce was the soloist.  Ginny Arce then talked about trusting in God.  Pedro and Ginny Arce with their younger children sang the two scripture verses highlighted in the program, accompanied on the piano by Mark Kent and on the flute by the Arce’s oldest daughter Samantha.

Elyjah (sophomore) then had closing prayer.  The congregation then became two Sabbath School classes, one taught by Clayton Brandt in the church sanctuary and one taught by Bob and Michelle Gustafson “behind the glass” in the church for the students.

Following are a few notes from the talk by Ginny Arce:
  1. Isaiah 41:10 “Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
  2. In Malaysia wild dogs hate monkeys. A mother monkey and her baby were trapped on the top of a banana plant, surrounded by these wild dogs.  As the missionary approached, the mother jumped, pursued by wild dogs. The baby ran up a tree.
  3. Jesus wants us to trust Him.  He will uphold and protect us.
  4. The baby monkey wouldn’t have survived if he hadn’t acted quickly at the right time. The mother survived and was reunited with her baby.
  5. Satan was like those vicious dogs.  Christ was like that mother, but He did sacrifice His life for us.
  6. Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.”
