Dorka Ellis Concentrates on God's Leading
.

Sabbath services on March 12, 2016 began with a song service led by Heather Zeroth, Mari (9th grader), and Diara (elementary), accompanied on the piano by Jacqueline Miller. The opening song was “Hail Him the King of Glory”.   Mari  had the opening prayer.

Blake (sophomore) read Psalm 119:7-10 “7 ¶ I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. 8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly. 9 ¶ BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed [thereto] according to thy word. 10 ¶ With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.”

Karolyne Villalobas had the mission report. The Laurelbrook Missions Offering, which was collected by Mari (9th grader) and Alana (elementary), was next.  A group of students and staff members then sang for special music.

Dorka Ellis had the superintendent’s remarks.  Daryll Ellis then had closing prayer.  The congregation then became two Sabbath School classes, one taught by Clifton Brandt in the church sanctuary and one taught by Stanton Rolle “behind the glass” in the church.

Following are a few notes from the theme talk by Dorka Ellis:
  1. Jesus is constantly working in our characters.
  2. Psalm 119:7-10 “7 ¶ I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.
  3. All these characteristics apply to the Law and to God Himself.
  4. Through Christ we are enabled to keep the Law.  Psalm 1:1-2 “1 ¶ Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”
  5. Sometimes it is very hard to see that God is leading us. He walks us through our struggles to prepare us for the Last Day events.
