Wendy Carr Talks About Creation
.

Sabbath services on June 6, 2015 began with an introit by Polina and JD (sophomores) on the piano.  There followed a song service led by Wendy Carr. The opening song was “I Sing the Mighty Power of God”.   Wendy Carr welcomed everyone. Wendy Carr had the opening prayer and led the congregation in a responsive reading titled “Our Lord, the Creator”.

Rick Carr read a mission story from China and then called for the Laurelbrook Missions Offering, which was collected by Matthew (sophomore) and Darius (junior).  The congregation then sang “How Great Thou Art” for special music, accompanied by JD and Polina (sophomores) on the piano and Vonee’ Hemans on the violin.

Wendy Carr had the superintendent’s remarks on God the Creator. She began with a short video by Ty Gibson on Creation.  Then she had a few thoughts on Creation, had the congregation in singing “Create in Me a Clean Heart, O God”, and had closing prayer.  The congregation then became two Sabbath School classes, one taught by James Brenneman in the church sanctuary and one taught by Rick Carr in the lobby of the nearby boys’ dorm.

Following are a few notes from the theme talk by Wendy Carr:
  1. Ty – our senses detect four dimensions in the universe; physicists believe there are eleven dimensions to the universe. God’s power and design is probably best seen in the dimensions we cannot detect with our senses.
  2. God’s power and design is all around us in smiles and plants and animals.
  3. Ellen White says that when the beauty of the earth strikes our senses it refreshes our souls.
  4. Most artists sign their creations; God has His signature in His creation.
